According to police, a white Ford Mustang Mach-E hit the patrol car and backed up, before striking the vehicle two more times. The driver then fled eastbound on Cypress Garden Boulevard.
The driver is described as a white man, who had a white female passenger with him. However, due to the Mustangs tinted windows, the sergeant nor the witnesses could get a good look at the pair.
As a precaution, the sergeant was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment but has since been released.
