During a morning briefing on November 27, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd discussed how 30-year-old Instacart driver Yasmine Donald was arrested for driving with a suspended license on November 21.
At the time she was pulled over, she was in the middle of making a delivery and had her client’s groceries in her car. So, the officers offered to find some good in a bad situation and complete the delivery for her.
Sheriff Judd said that she was happy with the idea. He commented that “she is really a pretty cool lady”, especially for allowing the officers to get her client the groceries despite her arrest. “She just violated the law”, he added.
Sheriff Judd went on to say, “So guess what? Our deputies delivered the groceries and took the appropriate photograph, and as they were leaving, the people came to the door to get their Instacart and waved at the deputies. That’s customer service with a sense of urgency”.
