A Polk County man died Tuesday night following a traffic crash in Osceola County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at Nova Road and Story Bend Road around 6:30 p.m.
Investigators said the driver of a Ford transit van was traveling eastbound on Nova Road when he entered the westbound lane and into the direct path of an oncoming Acura TL sedan.

Troopers said the Acura’s driver tried swerved out of the way, but the fronts of the vehicles collided.
The Acura overturned and came to rest on its roof on the grass shoulder of roadway, investigators said.
The driver was rushed to Osceola Regional Medical Center but did not survive.

FHP did not release his name, but said he was a 28-year-old Haines City resident.
The van’s driver, 47, of Deltona, was hospitalized with non-life-threating injuries, according to officials.
