Davenport woman wins regional Emmy for documentary about Haines City Police Department

Davenport resident Karina Michel Feld recently won a Suncoast Regional Emmy Award for Outstanding Production for a documentary about the Haines City Police Department.

Feld directed “Heart of Florida: PD,” which follows Haines City police officers as they strive to make a positive impact in their community, according to a news release. The documentary focuses on the officers’ personal struggles and their efforts to build trust with residents, the release said.

Feld has multiple credits as a producer and actor, including appearances in “The Starter Wife” and “CSI: NY.”

“I’m so happy that the film and our local community and law enforcement got the recognition I was so hoping for,” Michel said in the release.

Haines City planned to present Feld with a proclamation at Thursday’s City Commission meeting.
