OKEECHOBEE, Florida — A narcotics operation conducted by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Narcotics Task Force resulted in the arrest of a convicted felon, Christopher Lee Singletary, age 47, of Polk County. The operation took place on December 19, 2024, at the Tractor Supply parking lot in Okeechobee.Confidential sources informed the task force that Singletary was distributing methamphetamine and other illegal narcotics in Okeechobee County. During the operation, Singletary met with undercover detectives to conduct a narcotics transaction. Inside the suspect’s vehicle, authorities found 108 grams of methamphetamine, a loaded .22 caliber revolver, and drug paraphernalia, according to the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office.Singletary, a convicted felon, was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Although this is his first arrest in Okeechobee County, he has been previously arrested in other jurisdictions for 11 felony charges, including possession of methamphetamine, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of heroin.Sue Ellen Needham, who was a front seat passenger in the vehicle, was released from the scene without charges. The Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office emphasized their commitment to combating the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics, stating that the safety and well-being of residents remain their highest priority.
