LAKELAND, Fla. – A 69-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross East Edgewood Drive in Lakeland on Christmas Eve. The incident occurred around 7:39 PM on Tuesday, December 24th, near the 2100 block of East Edgewood Drive. According to witnesses and evidence gathered at the scene, William Crede was walking south across the road when he stepped into the path of an eastbound 2015 BMW driven by 26-year-old Shakur Dexter.
