Deputies rescue frightened kitten trapped in car engine

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hillsborough County deputies in Florida came to the rescue after a frightened kitten found itself trapped in the engine of a car.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies “worked tirelessly” to free the kitten, even using a jack at one point.

Not only was the kitten freed from its dangerous hiding spot, but deputies said it now has a new home.

Officials said the incident serves as a reminder for all residents to check their car engines during cold weather.

As cold temperatures set in, cats tend to seek shelter in warm, enclosed spaces, which can make car engines the perfect hiding spot.
