Man accused of touching himself in front of 4-year-old at Lakeland playground

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — A 56-year-old man with a history of exposing himself in public was caught again, this time for allegedly touching himself at a Lakeland playground.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a call about the man, later identified as Michael Bandy, of Lakeland, around 12:23 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6.

Authorities said the caller reported that Bandy had exposed himself and “began doing things to himself” at a playground at Duff Park in north Lakeland. A woman and her 4-year-old child were reportedly present at the time.

Bandy was previously convicted of exposure of sexual organs in 2023, and again in 2024, according to the sheriff’s office.

Following Monday’s incident, deputies said Bandy is now facing a third charge for exposure of sexual organs, along with a charge for lewd and lascivious behavior in the presence of a minor.

“He was also trespassed from Duff Park, so if anyone sees him there again, let us know,” the sheriff’s office wrote in a social media post.
