An 18-year-old Winter Haven man has been charged with multiple felonies, including second-degree murder, after police say he participated in an attempted armed robbery during which his 17-year-old friend was shot and killed. Devonta Tremaine Washington Jr., 18, of Winter Haven was arrested Tuesday and faces felony charges including second-degree murder, robbery with a firearm and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
