The chef-owner of a since-closed Sarasota County restaurant that was once named one of the 100 best in America has debuted a new establishment.
Longet, serving “fusion with a French accent,” is now open in downtown Venice at 133 W. Venice Ave. in the former space of Flynn’s on Venice Ave. The restaurant’s namesake is Steve Longet and his wife Jessica, who previously owned the Venice contemporary French restaurant Cafe Longet, which was the only Sarasota-Manatee establishment named to OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in America for 2021 before closing the following year .
