PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Tampa Bay mom is fighting for her 10-year-old son after Florida Medicaid ripped away his nursing services.
“It’s actually putting their health in danger, making a parent take care of their child like that around the clock by themselves. The child is at risk for abuse, neglect,” said Daina Rogers, Mayik’s mom.

After contacting the governor’s office and her congressman, she’s now turning to 8 On Your Side for help.
For three years, Mayik had a nurse who came to his Pasco County home, providing critical services. Those services have since been yanked away, and his mom feels stranded without any explanation as to why.
