Lakeland Man With Extensive Criminal History Back In Custody For Probation Violations

LAKELAND, Fla. – A familiar face to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, 53-year-old Jack Douglas O’Neill, Jr. of Lakeland, was arrested Friday evening after a warrant was issued for his apprehension due to multiple probation violations.

O’Neill, whose criminal record stretches back to the 1990s, was taken into custody at a residence on Trenton Road in Lakeland. His prior arrests include a wide range of offenses such as child endangerment, assault, criminal contempt, obstruction, battery, DUI, weapons violations, and trespassing.

The Florida Department of Corrections issued the warrant after determining O’Neill had violated his probation in half a dozen instances. He had been serving a one-year probationary period following an August 2024 arrest for Misuse of 911 and Resisting an officer…
