Developer seeks to revive 4 long-neglected historic Winter Haven buildings at city’s core

A local developer is moving forward with an ambitious plan to restore four of Winter Haven’s oldest historic buildings to their former glory after a decade or more of being left to deteriorate.

Grand Central Cooperative LLC, a partnership managed by Winter Haven resident Jeff Donalson, in conjunction with real estate developer Six/Ten LLC, have laid out a plan of more than $20 million for Central Avenue and 3rd Street SW.

“This is a critical, critical block in the city. It’s really been a block that’s been deteriorating for a decade,” said Rick Baker, a Six/Ten LLC investor and consultant, at a May 28 planning board meeting. “It will be hard to pull the rest of the city forward when you have this block like this that is not.”…
