Warrant for Violent Felony Offender Leads to Arrest

LAKELAND, Fla. – A report of a suspicious person at a Wawa convenience store on US 98 in south Lakeland this morning quickly led to the arrest of a man wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Wawa after receiving a call about a suspicious individual. Upon arrival, a deputy located and identified the man as 50-year-old Kenneth Wayne Vanderhoff of Lakeland.

While deputies determined that Vanderhoff had not committed any new crime at the Wawa at that time, a routine check revealed a significant discovery: Vanderhoff was wanted on an outstanding warrant from Probation & Parole for a Violation of Probation related to Grand Theft…
