TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — As Tampa Bay prepares for Fourth of July storms, some events will be delayed due to the rain.

North Port’s Freedom Festival has been postponed due to the inclement weather.

According to a release from the city, the festival was originally scheduled for July 4 at CoolToday Park, but it will now be held on Aug. 30.
City officials said they were concerned that the wet conditions would jeopardize people’s safety and also damage equipment.
“We understand how much this event means to the community, and we share in the disappointment,” said Shelby Mendelson, Recreation Manager and event organizer. “The safety of our residents, staff and visitors is always our top priority. We’ve thoroughly evaluated every alternative, but with the weather as unpredictable as it is, postponing is the responsible choice.”…
