“McNut” Meltdown: Teen’s Anger Over McNuggets Leads to Arrest

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old Polk County man is facing serious charges after allegedly threatening to shoot up a McDonald’s restaurant over an incorrect order that reportedly lacked his Chicken McNuggets.

Dayton Schaffer was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail, charged with making a false report concerning the use of a firearm and misuse of a two-way communication device.

According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, during a July 2 briefing, Schaffer’s frustration escalated significantly after he discovered his McDonald’s order was incorrect. Sheriff Judd colorfully described Schaffer’s subsequent behavior as that of a “McNut.”…
