Lakeland Fugitive Apprehended: William Copeland In Custody After Public Appeal

Teen Was Sought on Warrants for Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon and Burglary

LAKELAND, Fla. – William Lee Copeland, an 18-year-old Lakeland man sought on multiple felony warrants, was taken into custody by Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies last night, Tuesday, July 15th. Copeland was located and apprehended at a residence on Makati Drive in Lakeland, the very area where he was last known to reside.

The arrest follows a public appeal by the PCSO, who had designated Copeland as their “Warrant Of The Day” and asked for the community’s assistance in locating him. Authorities had cautioned that Copeland was considered armed and dangerous due to the nature of the charges against him.

Copeland was wanted on two Polk County warrants: one for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and another for Burglary of Conveyance. Details surrounding the incidents leading to these warrants have not yet been released by the Sheriff’s Office…
