“On a mission to save dogs and cats when natural disasters and man-made disasters strike,” SPCA Florida and its Polk County branch are offering classes to train volunteers for the Florida State Animal Response Coalition (FL SARC) — to “ensure these animals have someone on their side when they need it the most,” according to a news release.
Volunteers are invited to take the Awareness Level Small Animal Emergency Sheltering class on Saturday, July 19, at the SPCA Florida Education Building, 5850 S. Brannen Road, in Lakeland.
The Awareness Level class “will provide the knowledge and skills needed to work in an emergency animal shelter as a trained professional disaster animal responder.”…
