Summer storms test new Plant City storm drains

PLANT CITY, Fla. — For years, residents in the Roseland Park neighborhood never worried about flooding, but then Hurricane Milton struck and suddenly they found themselves surrounded by five feet of water and trapped.

Plant City leaders responded by completing a multi-million-dollar flood mitigation project, and now, several new storm drains can be seen on every corner of the neighborhood.
