Tampa’s bagel scene continues to rise, and the latest addition could be a game‑changer. Baygulls, a new bagel shop rooted in New York tradition, is officially opening its doors on Friday, Aug. 1. Located at 10007 W. Hillsborough Ave., Town ’N’ Country, Baygulls is ready to serve up classic bagels with a few fun twists.
Baygulls was born out of a simple mission: bring authentic New York‑style bagels to the Tampa Bay area. According to the owners, the idea started with a love for quality bagels and the realization that “there were no good bagels in the Bay.” From there, the journey began.
A bagel shop with big Tampa Bay ambitions
The shop prides itself on handcrafted techniques, quality ingredients (organic when possible) and never cutting corners. Its goal is simple: serve a good bagel every single time.
On the menu, you’ll find New York staples, including the beloved bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, complete with saltpepperketchup (spelled just like that for true Northeast transplants). Baygulls is also offering nostalgic comfort foods, including crispy seasoned bagel chips, mini pizza bagel bites and all‑beef bagel dogs.

Coffee lovers will find a full drink menu featuring lattes, americanos, cortados and matcha. In a nod to the local community, Baygulls also serves guava‑and‑cheese pastelitos, giving the menu a Tampa twist…
