Polk County Public Schools considering high school rezoning due to population changes

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — High school boundaries are changing in Polk County due to attendance shifts and population growth throughout the district.

Stephanie Yocum, president of Polk Education Association, said all schools need to be rezoned, not just high schools.

“The reason why it hasn’t come up is because elected school board members don’t want the heat. Comprehensive rezone is painful. It’s painful for communities,” she said.
