Lakeland Teen Arrested After ‘Donut’ Attempt In New Car

18-year-old charged with stunt driving, drug possession, and unlawful use of a driver’s license after allegedly spinning tires in intersection.

LAKELAND, Fla. – A late-night joyride ended with an arrest for an 18-year-old Lakeland man early Tuesday morning. Just after midnight, a Polk County Sheriff’s Deputy saw a white Chrysler 300 spinning its tires in the intersection of Banana Road and North Campbell Road, according to an incident report.

The vehicle, driven by Jordan Smith, then allegedly sped away, swerving through traffic before pulling into the driveway of a residence on Kaitlin Circle.

Smith, who lives at the residence, told the deputy he had just purchased the car and “wanted to see if he could make the tires spin.” He admitted to doing two “donuts” in the road before heading home…
