A Lakeland man was recently arrested for attacking a bicyclist and stealing the bike.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested the Lakeland man for the robbery. Law enforcement said the 36-year-old victim was riding his bicycle past a residence on David Avenue, when his bicycle bumped the suspect’s trailer.
40-year-old John Brasseur, AKA Skateboard John, ran out of the residence and attacked the victim, striking him multiple times on the face and head. According to law enforcement, Brasseur then got on the victim’s bicycle and rode away.
The victim had significant swelling on his head and eye, bruising, and a laceration near his eye. He was taken to the hospital for treatment…
