Fugitive with Warrant for Grand Theft, Battery Finally Taken Into Custody After Refusing to Surrender
POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A Polk County man with an active warrant for his arrest was taken into custody on Friday afternoon after a standoff with Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies at an Auburndale residence.
At approximately 1:38 p.m. on Friday, PCSO deputies arrived at a home on Wilson Drive in Auburndale seeking to locate and apprehend 39-year-old Chase Ernst. Ernst was wanted on a Polk County warrant for Violation of Probation, stemming from previous charges of Grand Theft Motor Vehicle and Felony Battery.
Deputies made repeated attempts to get Ernst to come to the door and surrender peacefully, but their efforts were unsuccessful. After a period of time, it became clear that Ernst would not comply with their commands…
