Man With Long Criminal History Arrested In Lakeland For Hardee County School Crimes

Polk County man with a long criminal record is back in jail after being sought for crimes at a Hardee County school.

LAKELAND, Fla. – A 50-year-old Lakeland man with a lengthy criminal history, including a pattern of targeting schools for theft, was arrested Friday, after a warrant was issued for his arrest in Hardee County.

Don Cornelius Stephens, who has spent 38 years in Florida state prisons over eight separate stints, was apprehended by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and Wauchula Police Department detectives at a residence on Saddlehorn Drive.
