The Polk County Sheriff’s Office detained two Tampa men, both 23, on Sunday morning after they were allegedly caught racing at speeds of up to 105 mph on Interstate 4.
At about 2:09 a.m., a deputy spotted a tan Honda Civic and a black Volkswagen Passat weaving across traffic at high speed. Micah Crouch and Christian Gonzalez Cornelio were driving 35 mph more than the posted 70 mph limit.
A traffic stop was initiated on both cars. The drivers were arrested without incident and transferred to the Polk County Jail. They are now facing allegations for dangerous excessive speed and racing…
