Caught In The Act: Patrol In Wahneta Leads To Arrest Of Suspect With Burglary History

A Polk County deputy’s keen eye led to the capture of the suspect with a prior history of burglary and theft.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A patrol early Tuesday morning by a Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputy led to the arrest of a Wahneta man with a history of burglary and theft.

At approximately 2 a.m., a PCSO deputy was on proactive patrol near a closed business located at 3008 Rifle Range Road when he observed a man, later identified as 26-year-old Adrian Rodriguez, crouching next to a vehicle and peering through its window.

Upon seeing the patrol car, Rodriguez quickly walked away, then began to run when the deputy activated his emergency lights and ordered him to stop. A brief foot pursuit ensued, ending with the deputy detaining Rodriguez…
