20-Year-Old Caught Doing a Wheelie the Day After His Driver’s License Was Suspended

MULBERRY, Fla. – A Friday night patrol by a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy led to the arrest of a 20-year-old motorcyclist who was allegedly performing a wheelie at a major city intersection—all while driving on a license that had been suspended just the day before.

Deputy Sheriff Lewis was patrolling the Mulberry area late Friday, September 26th, when he spotted a motorcyclist acting recklessly at the intersection of Canal Street and Church Avenue. The driver, later identified as James Luis Abel, Jr., was seen performing a wheelie on his 2017 Kawasaki motorcycle.
