POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A routine traffic stop of a bicyclist in Polk County on Tuesday evening quickly escalated, leading to the arrest of a Mulberry man on multiple drug-related and other charges.
The incident occurred around 7:39 p.m. on Tuesday. A deputy with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a bicycle and identified the rider as 34-year-old Shawn Paul Moorman of Mulberry.
During the interaction, authorities state that Moorman began walking away, disregarding the deputy’s order to stop. As he continued to walk, Moorman allegedly pulled methamphetamine from his pocket and threw it onto the ground…
