3 teens charged after 10-day crime spree involving multiple car burglaries in Winter Haven

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is reminding people to lock their car doors at night after a series of car burglaries led to the arrests of three teenage boys, one only 14 years old.

It started Sept. 18, when a woman living on Timberline Road West reported that someone had taken cash and money orders from her wallet in her unlocked car the night before. A surveillance camera captured a suspect carrying a Nike backpack and testing car door handles to see if they were locked.

On Sept. 28, another burglary was reported on Timberline Road East, in which a 9mm handgun and cash were taken from an unlocked car. This time, surveillance video captured two suspects testing door handles, PCSO said.

Two more vehicle burglaries were reported the same day on nearby Harmon Lane, and footage showed the same suspects carrying the Nike backpack seen in the Sept. 18 footage…
