Winter Haven Couple Arrested After Armed Stand-Off Sparked By Dog Dispute

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – An argument over a neighbor’s dog escalated into an hours-long armed stand-off on Thursday, October 2, 2025, resulting in the arrest of a Winter Haven couple on numerous felony charges.

The incident began in the late afternoon when Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies were dispatched to a residence on Red Fox Drive around 4:49 p.m. for an armed disturbance.

The victim reported that 59-year-old Marla Stroble had confronted him about his dog entering her property. The dispute took a dangerous turn when 57-year-old Christian Sarata emerged from the home and handed Stroble a kitchen knife.
