FDOT begins preparations Oct. 13 for resurfacing of US 98 from Bartow to Lakeland

Preparation for a resurfacing project on U.S. 98 from north of State Road 60 in Bartow to south of County Road 540A in Lakeland will begin Oct. 13, the Florida Department of Transportation said in a news release.

Crews will install construction signs and erosion control devices during daytime hours in preparation for roadway work. Milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin the night of Oct. 19 and will be performed overnight to minimize traffic impacts.

Motorists should expect nighttime lane closures from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday nights. The resurfacing project is being coordinated with another FDOT project to install a new traffic signal at the U.S. 98 and Lyle Parkway intersection…
