A 54-year-old Apopka man died on Saturday after a crash on Interstate 4 near Plant City. The Florida Highway Patrol said he had a medical emergency while driving his Kia SUV, causing it to hit the median guardrail, cross the highway, and overturn in the tree line, as reported by FOX 13 News. The crash happened shortly after 10:15 a.m. and caused traffic delays on the westbound lanes, with one lane blocked west of Branch Forbes Road.
According to Patch, after hitting the guardrail and spinning, the SUV went onto the grass shoulder, struck an embankment, and became airborne before overturning among the trees along the road. The driver from Apopka was taken to a hospital but later died from his injuries…
