Fast Track To Trouble: St. Augustine Man’s 104 MPH Rush Ends In Polk County Jail Stay

LAKELAND, Fla. – A St. Augustine urgency on the highway led to an overnight stay at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) detention center on Sunday night, October 19th.

At approximately 10:30 pm. a PCSO deputy on patrol noticed a 2017 Volkswagen Passat driving excessively fast and erratically on Interstate 4 near Lakeland.

The deputy’s radar clocked the vehicle traveling at 104 mph, which is 34 mph over the posted 70 mph speed limit. Compounding the excessive speed, the driver was also seen weaving aggressively between lanes to pass other traffic, deputies say…
