WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — One person was hospitalized after a house fire in Winter Haven early Monday morning, Polk County Fire Rescue said.

The fire was first reported at around 2:30 a.m., and crews arrived to find the home’s garage on fire and heavy smoke coming through the roof.
The flames were under control around an hour later, and PCFR said one patient was transported to a nearby hospital. They did not specify whether the person was a resident of the home or provide any details about their injuries.
