OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A jury was selected Tuesday as the trial opened for 68-year-old Richard Ferguson, who is accused of allowing his then 15‑year‑old son to drive the family car before a Sept. 2023 crash in Poinciana.
Authorities say a 50‑year‑old woman and her three grandchildren were killed.
Several witnesses, including teenagers who were in the vehicle at the time of the wreck, testified in the courtroom. One teen recalled Ferguson sitting in the garage and telling the youths to buckle up before they left.
