Lakeland Regional Health recently welcomed the following new providers to the medical staff. All providers listed below are accepting patients for care.
Cardiology – Joel Fernandez, MD
Dr. Joel Fernandez is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cardiologist with decades of experience both as a practicing physician and a faculty member of the Morsani College of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He specializes in advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and cardiomyopathies, with a focus on cardiac amyloidosis and nuclear cardiology.
Fernandez earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at the Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He completed his residency and fellowship in cardiology at the Morsani College of Medicine at USF.
