On November 4, 2025, two sisters, Afnane Kamel, 19, and Hala Kamel, 32, were arrested at a Target store on Grandview Parkway in Davenport, Florida. A Target loss prevention associate reported that the women selected items such as bedding, decorations, clothing, and makeup, and tried to hide them in shopping carts covered with store bags. The merchandise was valued at $2,487.70.
Store staff detained the sisters until Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrived. Both women admitted to planning the theft and offered to pay for the items. They were charged with grand theft and conspiracy to commit grand theft, and taken to the Sheriff’s Processing Center.
