Despite the record cold in the Tampa Bay area, veterans gathered to tender warm salutes in honor of America at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Palm Harbor.
The ceremony began only hours after areas in Tampa Bay hit 39 degrees on Nov. 11, breaking the 1892 daily record low (40), as confirmed by the National Weather Service, which also cited wind chills in the 20s–30s.
