Newly created judge positions on county, circuit courts in Polk County draw 21 applicants

The Judicial Nominating Commission for the 10th Judicial Circuit has released the names of applicants for two judge positions created by legislative action. Senate Bill 2508, passed in this year’s session, added positions for county court and circuit court judges.

Two have applied only for the circuit judge position: Rachelle Williamson and Anne Gibson, both current Polk County judges.

Five have applied only for the county judge position: Lee Adam Cohen, a private lawyer; David Molloy, senior attorney with the Guardian Ad Litem Office; Christina Ann Pawlus, senior counsel for the Florida Department of Transportation; Renee Reid, Assistant Public Defender; and Valerie Wright, private lawyer…
