The 44th Annual Lakeland Christmas Parade will take place in the first week of December. The event will begin with a fireworks display over Lake Mirror at 7 p.m. The parade will start with the first firework and follow a 1.25-mile route from the RP Funding Center through downtown Lakeland, around Lake Mirror, and back to the starting point. This year’s theme is ‘Rocking Around Lakeland.’ Floats, marching bands, and trailers will feature designs based on this theme. Mr. and Mrs. Claus will appear at the end of the parade.
Participants will compete in eight categories, including Most Outstanding Band, Best Professional Float, and Judge’s Choice. The city encourages groups to incorporate the theme into their entries.
City officials, including Fire Chief Doug Riley and Police Chief Sammy Taylor, have issued safety reminders. Residents are asked not to place chairs, tape, or blankets along the parade route before the event day. Early placement can block sidewalks and crosswalks, creating hazards. Items found obstructing public spaces will be removed…
