Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) in Florida has received a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant from FEMA. The grant will fund 50 new firefighter positions. This federal funding is intended to help PCFR meet staffing and operational standards. It is part of a larger plan to fill more than 100 positions in the department.
