Former Hillsborough detention deputy gets 15 years after killing woman in high-speed crash

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — It was an emotional day in court as a former Hillsborough County detention deputy learned his fate for a deadly high-speed crash.

Daniel Hernandez was convicted of vehicular homicide and reckless driving for killing a 65-year-old woman and severely injuring her husband.
