Watson Clinic has created a $10 million fund to settle a class-action lawsuit charging that patients’ data were exposed in a ransomware attack starting in January 2024.
Patients have received cards in the mail informing them of the proposed settlement and their rights to claim part of the fund. Payments ranging from $100 to $75,000 are available to more than 280,000 patients, based on the level of data exposed in the breach, according to the statement from Kroll Settlement Administration.
