The relief flight to Jamaica didn’t unfold the way Dr. Jomo Cousins had planned. It was a challenge from the start. The original charter had a technical issue. An 8 a.m. departure didn’t happen until nearly 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
It was a flight of setbacks, but Cous- ins refused to quit. Hurricane Melissa’s devastation to his birth land called him into action and Cousins was determined to help.
