2 women killed in four-car crash in Lakeland on Saturday

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said a multi-car crash claimed the lives of two women in Lakeland Saturday evening.

It happened on Kathleen Road at around 5:45 p.m. in front of the Nick & Moe’s gas station.

The sheriff’s office said the 23-year-old driver of a Nissan failed to navigate a curve in the road and went off the roadway, crossed the grass median, and clipped the front of a Kia traveling in the opposite direction. The 48-year-old woman driving the Kia was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After striking the Kia, the Nissan hit a Dodge Ram, driven by a 53-year-old Lakeland man, who was not injured.

Finally, the Nissan continued forward and struck an Audi SUV head-on, the sheriff’s office said. Driving the Audi was the 25-year-old son of the Dodge Ram driver, and the passenger was his 79-year-old grandmother…
