Over 50,000 people pack annual Lakeland Christmas parade

LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) — The 44th annual Lakeland Christmas parade held along Main Street downtown brought so much excitement that onlookers were out early Thursday morning to set up chairs to grab the perfect spot.

“This is something we come to every year, it’s just magical for the kids,” said Charity Reyes.

Downtown Clearwater revitalized after over a dozen years of work

The City of Lakeland said that over 50,000 people were in attendance for the spectacle, alongside more than 100 organizations that participated. Floats were organized by local law enforcement, first responders, volunteers, and neighboring businesses.

The festivities began with a fireworks show near Lake Mirror, and the parade lasted about 90 minutes…
