DUNDEE — Standing on the sands of an orange grove that his family has cultivated for more than a century, Lindsay Raley peered down upon a pond and a stand of mature oaks, where a cluster of cows grazed.
As the citrus industry has dwindled in Florida, Raley has steadfastly maintained the family tradition on a 417-acre tract in Dundee. Within several years, though, the section of grove near where he stood could be replaced by a high-speed toll road.
Raley recently learned that Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise had selected a preferred route for the Central Polk Parkway East, one that would bisect his property just north of Lake Annie…
