See FDOT’s preferred route for a new road crossing I-4 in North Lakeland

Plans for a new interstate crossing connecting two busy areas of North Lakeland have become clearer.

The Florida Department of Transportation finished a feasibility study in the spring and proposed an official route for a new road that would join Walt Williams Road and State Road 33 near the Bridgewater community with a crossing over I-4.

On Dec. 12, Chuck Barmby, Lakeland’s planning and transportation manager, outlined the proposed route for city commissioners at their agenda study.
