Woman steals $2,900 dog from pet store, gets arrested in Polk County: police

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A woman accused of stealing a dog valued at nearly $3,000 from a Florida pet store was arrested in Polk County.

Stuart police said that on December 6, Bobbi Joe Zitko, 26, stole a Pomeranian from a pet store by hiding it in her shirt.

Detectives tracked her to Polk County, where she was arrested and charged with grand theft.

The puppy, which was valued at $2,900, was safely returned to the store…
